Daylesford Organic Milk

Daylesford have created organic and more sustainable type packaging for milk instead of the regular cartons. It has nice features the packet and is kept plain. This type of packaging would also take up less space on the shelves.

Below they've used the animal the meat is sourced from and used the image to cut out from the packet this makes it clear what you are buying and also makes the packet stand out from other products on the market.

'Black spring water'

Details

Black Spring water is mineral water sourced from very rich parts of the earth, It changes colour when reacting with the air to go black. It has effects relating to plant growth and health, and is very nutritional. The packaging reveals words when the drink is finished which i thought could increase appeal and the rest of the bottle is very simple.

The market for this product could be quite small as people would worry about the irregular colour of their water and if it was safe.

Earth garbage Bag Koichi Kosugi and Kenjiro Sano

Details

The earth garbage bag gives you the feeling of filling up the earth every time you eat food and throw away food/ packaging. It's a cynical way to trick you into using less and less rubbish and you feel guilt in creating this overflowing world of rubbish.

Splenda Packaging

Details

Designed by Anchalee Chambundabongse | Country: United States

This is a prime example of packaging representing the internal product, the 'light' element of the calorie less sweetener is seen through the bubbly yellow/blue outer pattern, and also small circular spots imitate the shape of the splenda giving it a playful twist.

McDonalds child-targetting ad campaign

Details

By giving away free toys and packaging their products in very bright noticable and friendly colour schemes the company has tricked children into wanting their product. This then has a bad impact on the parents as they feel slightly pressured to purchase the meal to please their children. This is wide spread across all classes, as every parent at one time or a mother has bought a meal at McDonalds.

I find this taboo subject as we all know that the food is greatly unhealthy but we still proceed to fund the organisation and eat in their restaurants. It is a prominent issue when companies are targeting children for the main source of income as they have no defence to react to the free toy, welcoming colours and logos and advertisements.
